One day I suggested that my friend and her kids and I should have a coloring party. We could have hot dogs, chips and ice cream and all color together, with the TV off, of course. We had a blast and we plan to do this once a month. Since then I have made it a practice to color in my books at least once or twice a week. This time is very relaxing for me and gives my mind a much needed break and its just plain fun. I think it is sad that we abandon, as adults, the fun things that we engaged in as kids. Just because we grow up doesnt mean we have to stop having innocent fun. I know it sounds simple, but try picking up a coloring book with images in it you can relate to and color inside or outside the lines if you want. Maybe even just scribble, but allow yourself to get in touch with the less serious side of yourself for a little while.
Determine your childs level when it comes to coloring. Some color books provide large coloring spaces making it easier for children to color the page, stay in the lines, etc. As the child gets older, their skill level for coloring increases as well, and the difficulty of the book may as well. Some coloring books come with written instructions, and other games, such as a dot to dot, or a maze. If you want to keep your child happy, and still challenge them, choose coloring or activity books in their range or level, and do not frustrate them with books that have too small of pictures, or too many spaces to color, or written instructions.
Coloring in pages that are specific for coloring. I have found a few websites that have pages to color that are downloadable. You can also try a resource store for teachers. These specific pages for coloring are pictures or drawings of a variety of design that you alone enjoy. You can make your own coloring book with these pages. After coloring the designs you can write your own narrative about how you feel. Write how the design itself and the colors you used relieved your stress. You can even write a short story about the design if you like, this is your project and it is for your eyes only.
Have you come to a point when you feel like your family is a hopeless case? Sometimes you just feel that it has been a daily routine. Days passed and even for years the daily schedules just repeat itself like it was destined to be like it. You and your wife leave home while your child is having a breakfast by himself. Isnt that a sad scene to look at? Family bonding is a must in maintaining a harmonious relationship. Being short of time can ruin bonds between family members and that can direct the way to a very serious family breakdown. Kids can be uncared for not just with the physical needs, the emotional and societal wants even comes worst as compared to neglect of substantial needs.
The computer and the internet have opened an entirely new spectrum of coloring and drawing. Adults now make very sizable livings creating, drawing and coloring pictures for computer animation including video games, movies, commercials and items most adults would never consider, such as some high-quality information websites. With this option available as a full-fledged career for adults, it is no wonder that the tools and formats used in this style of artwork have carried down to children, albeit on a smaller scale.
Coloring in a Doodle Book. You can do this very effectively by getting an artists sketch pad. This is a pad of blank sheets of paper used by artists to plan their paintings or creative work on, much like a writers rough draft. Once you have your pad, take a pencil and start to doodle. Make lines, circles, shapes, what ever at the time makes you feel good. Then color in the spaces within the doodles. Even if you think you are not a very creative person you will feel productive and relaxed after a few doodle your noodle calming sessions.
Available with crayons: Most of the books come with crayons; this means that you dont have to buy them separately. When I was a child I just loved to draw and paint but, as I remember, before I even could begin to draw accurately I used to color in. The next stage was to learn to draw using stencils and then I graduated to be able to draw freehand which provided me with an absolutely fantastic sense of achievement. I went on to love drawing but the point I am trying to make is that it all started with the simple yet effective art of coloring in!
The art of coloring is a simple joy. All you need is a coloring book and your choice of tools. From here you can immerse yourself fully into the craft without agonizing about what to make, how to read the pattern, and how will it turn out? Coloring is a a form of meditation. There is something truly hypnotizing that happens with you sit down with a fresh box of pencil crayons, choose the color that jumps out at you and begin your journey into the page. Time loses its grip on the mind and enables the color-er to become present in the moment, in the line and in the color gliding onto the paper.
